【摘要】:Thehealthofworkersinmanyindustriesisatriskthroughexposurebyinhalationtotoxicmetalsandmetalloids.Industrialhygienistsandotherpublichealthprofessionalsneedtodeterminetheeffectivenessofmeasurestakentocontrolworkersx2019;exposures,andthisisgenerallyachievedbymakingworkplaceairmeasurements.Thisstandardhasbeenpromulgatedinordertomakeavailableamethodformakingvalidexposuremeasurementsforawiderangeofmetalsandmetalloidsthatareusedinindustry.Itwillbeofbenefittoagenciesconcernedwithhealthandsafetyatwork;industrialhygienistsandotherpublichealthprofessionals;analyticallaboratories;industrialusersofmetalsandmetalloidsandtheirworkers,andsoforth.Thistestmethodspecifiesagenericmethodfordeterminationofthemassconcentrationofmetalsandmetalloidsinworkplaceairusinginductivelycoupledplasmaatomicemissionspectrometry.Note28212;Forsomeelementsthesamplingandsamplepreparationstepsdescribedhereinmaybeusedforsubsequentanalysisbyothermeans,forexample,atomicabsorptionspectrometryorelectroanalysis.Theanalysisresultscanbeusedfortheassessmentofworkplaceexposurestometalsandmetalloidsinworkplaceair.Note38212;RefertoGuideE1370forguidanceonthedevelopmentofappropriateexposureassessmentandmeasurementstrategies.1.1Thistestmethodspecifiesaprocedureforcollection,samplepreparation,andanalysisofairborneparticulatematterforthecontentofmetalsandmetalloidsusinginductivelycoupledplasma-atomicemissionspectrometry(ICP-AES).1.2Themethodisapplicabletopersonalsamplingoftheinhalableorrespirablefractionofairborneparticlesandtoareasampling.1.3Thismethodspecifiesanumberofalternativemethodsforpreparingtestsolutionsfromsamplesofairborneparticulatematter.Oneofthespecifiedsamplepreparationmethodsisapplicabletothemeasurementofsolublemetalormetalloidcompounds.Otherspecifiedmethodsareapplicabletothemeasurementoftotalmetalsandmetalloids.1.4Thefollowingisanon-exclusivelistofmetalsandmetalloidsforwhichoneormoreofthesampledissolutionmethodsspecifiedinthisdocumentisapplicable.However,thereisinsufficientinformationavailableontheeffectivenessofdissolutionmethodsforthoseelementsinitalics.1.5Themethodisnotapplicabletothesamplingofelementalmercury,ortoinorganiccompoundsofmetalsandmetalloidsthatarepresentinthegaseousorvaporstate.1.6Thistestmethodcontainsnotesthatareexplanatoryandarenotpartofthemandatoryrequirementsofthemethod.1.7ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
