【摘要】:Thelossofvolatilematerialsfromgreasesandoilscanadverselyeffecttheoriginalperformancecharacteristicsofalubricantandthereforecouldbeasignificantfactorinevaluatingalubricantforaspecificuse.Suchvolatilescanalsobeconsideredcontaminantsintheenvironmentinwhichthelubricantistobeused.Correlationbetweenresultsfromthistestmethodandserviceperformancehasnotbeenestablished.Thetestcanberunatanyagreedupontemperaturebetween100and150x00B0;C(210to300x00B0;F).Note18212;Thespecifiedflowofair,2.58x00B1;0.02g/min,(2L/minatstandardtemperatureandpressure),assumesdryair.Itisnotknownthattheoriginalworkinvolveddryairbutithassincebeenshownthatthiscanbeafactorinreproducibilityandshouldbeaddressed.Adewpointoflessthan10x00B0;Catstandardtemperatureandpressurewillbesatisfactory.Note28212;Todetermineevaporationlossattemperaturesabove150x00B0;C(300x00B0;F),seeTestMethodsD2595.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthelossinmassbyevaporationoflubricatinggreasesandoilsforapplicationswhereevaporationlossisafactor.Evaporationlossdatacanbeobtainedatanytemperatureintherangefrom100to150x00B0;C(210to300x00B0;F).1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesingiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
